(LOS ANGELES) -- A man was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck on Wednesday morning.

The male motorcyclist was driving north on the 405 Freeway in Seal Beach when he was thrown from his bike. California Highway Patrol told the Los Angeles Times that a pickup truck carrying a utility trailer then struck the victim.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three lanes of the freeway were closed following the accident.
